American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in a hospital setting, requiring BLS certification and hands-on endoscopy skills including advanced scoping procedures.
Details- Hospital-based Endoscopy unit serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
- Performs and assists with a wide range of endoscopic procedures including Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, Flex Sigmoidoscopy, dilations, and esophageal foreign body removal
- Experience with specialized equipment including endoscopes, bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS and EUS scopes, Flex Sigmoidoscopes, fluoroscopy equipment (C-arm), electrosurgical units, ERBE portable coagulation instrument, and balloon dilators
- Handles multiple specimen types including bronchoscopy, cytology, frozen sections, gastric brushing, and pathology specimens
- Proficiency with High-Level Disinfection (HLD), instrument processing and cleaning, and sterilization/disinfection procedures
- Uses Provation for documentation
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- Some weekend call required, plus one night of call every 7–12 days
- 13-week contract
- Active NY RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of GI/Endoscopy RN experience
- Proficiency with portable/bedside travel cases, procedure setup, and room closing responsibilities
- Experience with Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Responsibilities include procedure setup, instrument processing and cleaning, restocking room and supply carts, and closing the room at the end of the day
- Assists with biopsies and specimen collection across multiple specimen types
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO for the duration of the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
