American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a General Radiology position requiring ARRT certification, Epic EMR experience, and Level 1 Trauma experience.
Details- General Radiology department in an acute care hospital setting
- Performs diagnostic general radiographic procedures using various imaging equipment
- Schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, Thursday through Saturday
- Holiday coverage required, including July 4th
- 36 hours per week
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- IEMA Radiography License required if applicable
- Associate's degree in a related field or a Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Rad Tech experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Performs radiographic procedures including acquiring and processing patient exams per department protocols and accrediting body guidelines
- Administers IV contrast, oral, and rectal contrast as appropriate; recognizes and responds to adverse or allergic reactions
- Reviews radiology orders, patient history, and clinical data to assess medical necessity and ensure exam accuracy
- Critiques image quality including positioning, technical factors, and alignment
- Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and communicates with Radiologists for interpretation
- Screens patients for pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing when applicable
- May perform cross-trained modality duties within the department based on credentials held
- May assume Lead Rad Tech or Imaging Coordinator duties in their absence
- Assists in the instruction of students and new staff as needed
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this facility for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
