Information Technology Technician

General Job Summary: Coordinate, plan, and supervise the information technology needs of the Methodist Children’s Homes of MS “MCH”.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Collaborate with external vendors for IT services, hardware, and software procurement
  • Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms for the organization
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
  • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the organization's information
  • Plan for future technology needs and assess the feasibility of technology upgrades
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employees’ IT skills and awareness
  • Coordinate with different departments to understand their technology requirements and implement solutions accordingly
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies to continually enhance IT policies
  • Provide maintenance assistance as needed
Requirements:

Knowledge & Experience

Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, Bachelor’s preferred

5 plus years’ experience in Information Technology

Experience in working with IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies

Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

Strong ability to prioritize tasks

Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices


Skills/Working Conditions

Must maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record

Must be insurable by Methodist Children’s Homes insurance carrier

Must be able to work flexible schedule and shifts including overnights, weekends, holidays and extended periods of time

First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, and medication administration


Physical Requirements

Must provide a negative drug screen result prior to employment

Must pass a pre-employment physical and on-going physical assessments as required

Have the ability to demonstrate organizational, management, and leadership skills

Have the ability to generate multiple solutions to meet the changing needs of clients, staff, and communities

Have the ability to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written formats, with consumers, including, but not limited to parents, supervisees, colleagues, and community service providers
