Position Summary
A growing, acquisition-focused services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its finance and accounting team in a newly created role supporting post-acquisition integration and operational growth.
This is a hands-on accounting leadership position responsible for helping consolidate accounting responsibilities across multiple business segments and international locations. The role combines technical accounting, month-end close leadership, reconciliations, consolidations, and team supervision within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating as a working manager — someone who can prepare and review accounting work while also mentoring a small international team and helping improve accounting structure, controls, and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead month-end close activities for assigned business segments and international operations
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities
• Support international financial statement consolidations and foreign currency reconciliations
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes and ensure timely close deliverables
• Help maintain and improve accounting controls, processes, and reporting accuracy
• Supervise areas including rebate accounting, lease accounting, equity accounting, and reserve analysis
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff and offshore team members
• Coordinate with international teams across multiple time zones to support close and reporting activities
• Partner with tax preparers and support special projects, integrations, and process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong US GAAP and technical accounting background
• Month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Ability to prepare and review complex journal entries
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working in large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Large company, multi-location, or international accounting environment experience
• Private equity-backed or public company experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally across international teams
Preferred Backgrounds
• International accounting or consolidation experience
• Foreign currency reconciliation and gain/loss accounting exposure
• Experience managing offshore or international accounting teams
• Acquisition integration or post-acquisition restructuring experience
• Background supporting multiple business segments or lines of business
• Accounting Manager, Corporate Accounting Manager, Consolidations Manager, Financial Reporting Manager, Senior Accountant, or Assistant Controller backgrounds
Why This Opportunity
• Newly created role with strong visibility and ownership
• Hybrid flexibility with three remote days per week
• Opportunity to help build structure and process after a major acquisition
• Exposure to international accounting and consolidations without excessive transaction volume
• Opportunity to mentor and lead a growing accounting team
• Strong fit for someone who enjoys both hands-on accounting and leadership responsibilities
• Opportunity for long-term growth as the business continues to scale
