Job Description
Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30/4:30 PM
Competitive Pay + Overtime Available
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems while supporting preventive maintenance initiatives that help drive operational efficiency and safety.
This is an excellent DIRECT HIRE opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment, machinery, buildings, and utility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime
- Support maintenance strategy initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Utilize CMMS (Brightly) system for work orders, maintenance tracking, and documentation
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, compressors, heaters, plumbing, water systems, and office equipment
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments as needed
- Ensure maintenance quality standards, spare parts inventory, and calibration procedures are maintained
- Report major equipment failures, safety concerns, and operational issues promptly
- Provide technical support and assist maintenance team members as needed
- Follow and promote all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree in a Technical Field or Journeyman Certification preferred
- 3–5 years of commercial or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, industrial equipment, and facility maintenance preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Experience using power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Forklift experience or ability to operate a forklift and company vehicle as needed
- Must be willing to work overtime and flexible hours when needed
- Must successfully pass a maintenance evaluation test
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working around machine noise, metal dust, and varying temperatures
