Job Description
Role:
This position is responsible for processing vehicle titles using respective states/agencies guidelines in a timely and accurate manner to ensure a high level of member satisfaction and meeting the goals of the Credit Union. Will also be responsible for other Collection Department duties as assigned.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Accurately process incoming titles, including review and perfection of unperfected titles within core system, completion of monthly Title Dashboard report, and record incoming titles daily according to established procedures. Troubleshoot problem resolution specific to titles, power of attorneys and discrepancies relating to lien perfection.
- Answers member inquiries regarding title perfection and release, and participate in management of overflow call resolution.
- Manages continued transition and maintenance of ELT process to increase efficiency of title perfection process.
- Distributes regular status reports and employee communication on active issues involving title perfection and collateral management.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- To ensure title requests are processed in a timely manner.
- To provide friendly, prompt, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and coworkers including, answering questions and/or processing title related requests.
- To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquires in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
- To ensure that all operations for assigned products are in compliance with governing regulation and to keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting title and/or the department.
- To make sure other job related duties are completed in a timely manner.
- To recommend new products and/or services that will increase income, reduce expenses and/or enhance procedures.
- To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- To comply with Credit Union's security policy and other policies and procedures if applicable.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting
cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills:
1. Must have good communication skills and be detail oriented.
2. Must have an understanding of lending and finance.
3. Must understand basic financial calculations.
4. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
5. Must be able to operate general office equipment including 10-key calculator, copier,
fax, and computer.
Physical Requirements:
This position mostly operates from a desk. Physical activity is generally limited to lifting
small boxes or items less than 20 lbs. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Work Environment: Typical office environment.
