Seeking an experienced Purchasing & Procurement Specialist to own the full procurement cycle, from vendor identification and RFQ through PO issuance, delivery tracking, quality verification, and records management. In this role, you will be the driving force behind sourcing raw materials, labels, packaging, and indirect supplies that keep our manufacturing operations running without interruption. If you bring strong negotiation instincts, supplier relationship management experience, and comfort within ERP environments, we want to hear from you.

 

Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management

• Research, evaluate, and select vendors based on reliability, quality standards, lead times, and price competitiveness.

• Identify and onboard new suppliers for packaging, drums, and indirect materials; send technical specifications, manage follow-up, and oversee the qualification process.

• Maintain ongoing supplier relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor communications.

Negotiation & Contract Management

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to secure maximum value and ROI for the company.

• Monitor market trends, industry changes, and raw material cost fluctuations to inform procurement strategy and renegotiation timing.

• Ensure all agreements are documented accurately and maintained within company records systems.

Purchase Order Management

• Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) for raw materials, labels, packaging, and indirect supplies; follow up to ensure timely delivery.

• Enter and verify indirect purchase orders and transmit them to suppliers; track ETAs and escalate delays proactively.

• Align PO quantities and pricing against supplier invoices; resolve discrepancies and adjust as needed.

Inventory & Demand Planning Support

• Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, labels, and packaging; project future needs using historical data, production schedules, and company forecasts.

• Review raw material and packaging requirements against upcoming production plans; place replenishment orders and confirm ETAs.

• Partner with the Production Planning Specialist to align purchasing decisions with manufacturing schedules and avoid stockouts or excess inventory.

Quality Assurance & Records Management

• Inspect delivered goods for compliance with quality standards; resolve discrepancies, shortages, or defective materials directly with suppliers.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, pricing history, and delivery performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  1. Proven experience as a Purchaser, Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment preferred.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Comfortable managing procurement workflows digitally.
