Medical Assistant

We are a growing primary care practice with offices in Amherst and Cheektowaga, NY, looking for a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. You'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality, efficient patient care alongside our physicians and clinical staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

What you'll do

• Room patients and document chief complaints, medical history, and medication reconciliation
• Obtain and record vital signs accurately (BP, HR, temp, weight, SpO2)
• Prepare exam rooms before and after each patient visit
• Update and maintain patient charts in the EMR system
• Process prior authorization requests for medications and referrals
• Assist providers with clinical procedures as needed
• Communicate with patients regarding follow-up, test results, and appointment instructions
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards

What we're looking for

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) — required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a primary care or internal medicine setting
• Proficiency with an EMR system (1+ year of hands-on experience)
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy outpatient environment
• BLS/CPR Certification — preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent — required
