Responsibilities:

  • Drive complete system ownership from initial requirements definition through final delivery and customer handoff.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams spanning structures, electrical, propulsion, and third-party suppliers.
  • Establish program cadence by managing schedules, tracking interdependencies, and maintaining accountability across workstreams.
  • Direct task allocation and progress follow-through with internal and external contributors.
  • Execute engineering work with a structured, milestone-driven approach.
  • Support the evolution of prototype hardware toward flight-ready and production-grade configurations.
  • Deliver integrated systems on schedule within a dynamic, high-tempo development environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in systems development, mechanical design, hardware integration, or related technical roles.
  • Track record of leading or owning technical systems or major subsystems.
  • Ability to operate fluidly across structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering domains.
  • Direct experience building, assembling, or validating physical hardware.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities with clear, effective communication skills.
  • Systems-level perspective with focus on schedule adherence, risk identification, and deliverable outcomes.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in aerospace, aviation, or other certification-intensive industries.
  • Familiarity with experimental flight operations, type certification activities, or rapid prototyping programs.
  • Experience thriving in lean, agile engineering organizations.
  • Working knowledge of requirements management platforms, test fixtures, and verification procedures.
  • Familiarity with Cameo (or similar) Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) software and tools


Additional Responsibilities: The systems engineer will be accountable for:

  1. Full lifecycle stewardship of designated systems from concept through certification support.
  2. Technical liaison duties bridging mechanical, electrical, and external engineering resources.
  3. Program rhythm management including milestone tracking, resource coordination, and dependency resolution.
  4. Hands-on participation in build, integration, and functional verification activities.
  5. Advancing early-stage hardware toward flight qualification and scaled manufacturing.
  6. Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and stakeholder reporting throughout development.
