Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) with Emergency Room (ER) and/or Urgent Care experience to join our healthcare team. The PA will provide high-quality medical care, evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute illnesses and injuries
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests such as labs, X-rays, and EKGs
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Perform minor procedures including suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and abscess treatment
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations
  • Stabilize and manage emergency medical conditions
  • Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current Physician Assistant license in the state of practice
  • NCCPA certification required
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of Emergency Room and/or Urgent Care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience managing high patient volumes
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
  • Strong procedural skills
  • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with physician support
  • Trauma or emergency response experience preferred
