About Us

Key Responsibilities:
- Litigation & Trial Work: Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation cases, from intake through trial. Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Negotiation & Settlement: Lead settlement negotiations, including preparing settlement proposals and working directly with insurance companies, defense attorneys, and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Client Advocacy: Build strong relationships with clients, providing guidance and support throughout the legal process. Ensure that clients feel heard, respected, and well-informed at every stage of their case.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant statutes, case law, and regulations. Draft legal memoranda, briefs, motions, and other written work products.
- Trial Preparation & Court Appearances: Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials. Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and trial strategies to ensure a strong case presentation.
- Case Management: Oversee case progress, manage deadlines, and communicate regularly with clients about their cases. Collaborate with your team to ensure timely and efficient case handling.
- Mentorship & Development: Provide support to senior attorneys and guidance to paralegals, and support staff. Contribute to the firm's continued growth and development by sharing knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school or candidate planning to take the Virginia State Bar in Summer 2026.
- Active license to practice law in Virginia or candidate planning to take the Virginia State Bar in Summer 2026.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- A client-focused approach with empathy and the ability to handle sensitive cases with care and professionalism.
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented with a desire to achieve successful outcomes for clients.
- Ability to lead staff, including legal assistants and paralegals.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
