We are seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple hospitality and entertainment entities.
Position Overview
The Controller will lead all accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting functions for a growing multi-entity hospitality and entertainment organization. This role requires a highly organized and proactive financial professional who can manage complex operational accounting while helping improve systems, controls, and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate has strong hospitality industry experience, thrives in fast-paced environments, and understands the operational flow of restaurants, nightlife, entertainment venues, or event-driven businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple business entities
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and cash flow reports
- Manage general ledger activity and month-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting
Payroll & Bookkeeping
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll-related compliance
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor payments
- Maintain organized and accurate bookkeeping systems across all entities
Multi-Entity Financial Management
- Support financial operations for hospitality, entertainment, and events-related businesses
- Monitor operational expenses, labor costs, and revenue trends
- Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
Systems & Process Improvement
- Streamline accounting workflows and improve internal financial systems
- Develop scalable processes to support organizational growth
- Ensure strong internal controls and operational efficiencies
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity in all financial matters
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting or controller-level experience required
- Hospitality, restaurant, nightlife, entertainment, or events industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or locations
- Strong bookkeeping and payroll management experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and accounting systems required
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills
- Highly organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Self-starter with the ability to improve systems and processes proactively
