Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Lead the organization’s accounting operations, financial monitoring activities, and reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely results.
• Provide senior leaders with data-driven insights through financial analysis, forecasting, research, and business modeling.
• Review projects, test assumptions, and respond to special financial requests with clear recommendations and supporting analysis.
• Assess new business and funding opportunities by evaluating financial impact, risk, and long-term value.
• Prepare board-level financial materials, present results in meetings, and explain key variances, trends, and performance drivers.
• Develop the annual budget for leadership and board review, while supporting ongoing budget management throughout the year.
• Partner with fiscal staff, managers, and executives to identify revenue and expense issues and implement practical solutions.
• Oversee the effectiveness of accounting systems, recommend improvements when needed, and support implementation of approved changes.
• Supervise finance team members, contribute to staff training and onboarding efforts, and help maintain required legal and regulatory documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in finance leadership, accounting management, or a comparable senior-level fiscal role.
• Demonstrated expertise in annual budgeting, budget administration, and month-end close activities.
• Strong background in financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and analysis for executive stakeholders.
• Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership, boards, or other governance groups.
• Knowledge of fiscal compliance standards, internal controls, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and develop staff while managing multiple priorities with sound business judgment.
• Proficiency with Sage accounting software or similar financial systems.
