Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification
  • Experience working with high school students, preferably in an alternative, charter, or dropout recovery setting
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes, compliance, and documentation
  • Skilled in differentiating instruction to meet a wide range of academic and behavioral needs
  • Collaborative approach to partnering with families, staff, and support personnel
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Comfortable fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment for at-risk and diverse student populations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student goals
  • Adapt and modify curriculum for students at varying academic and social levels
  • Track, monitor, and report student progress toward IEP objectives
  • Maintain regular communication with families, counselors, and school support teams
  • Facilitate a positive, encouraging learning environment that embraces student diversity and helps remove barriers to achievement
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to ongoing program improvement
