We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join a construction-focused organization in Granville Twp, Ohio. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position is ideal for someone who can manage weekly payroll with a high level of accuracy while supporting a workforce that includes union employees. The role offers the chance to contribute to dependable payroll operations in a fast-paced environment and may expand in scope as the business grows.

Responsibilities:
• Process end-to-end weekly payroll for approximately 40 employees, with flexibility to support higher volumes during peak seasons.
• Prepare and distribute paper checks accurately and on schedule while maintaining complete payroll records.
• Administer payroll activities for union employees, including calculations, deductions, and related reporting requirements.
• Review payroll data carefully to ensure wages, hours, and classifications are entered correctly and comply with company and contractual obligations.
• Support prevailing wage payroll tasks when needed, including verification of applicable rates and documentation.
• Use Excel to organize payroll information, reconcile data, and produce clear supporting reports for internal review.
• Maintain accurate records within payroll systems and assist with updates or additional payroll processes as operations expand into other states.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and ensure employees are paid correctly each cycle.• 4-5 years of hands-on payroll experience, including full-cycle payroll processing.
• Prior experience handling union payroll and related reporting requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manage, review, and reconcile payroll data.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience in construction payroll or a similar industry with variable workforce demands.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage payroll practices is preferred.
• Exposure to multistate payroll is a plus.
• Familiarity with eDenab is helpful but not required.
