Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing of products. This role includes supervising production teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining equipment functionality, and driving continuous improvements in production processes.
We are currently have 2 openings:
Our first shift works 5am - 1:30pm and second shift from 1:30pm - 10pm. We are looking for a supervisor for each shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise Production Staff:
Lead and manage a team of production workers, ensuring they meet production targets and quality standards.
Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to staff members.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of individual team members and implement corrective actions when necessary. Handle all disciplinary measures for production staff.
Production Scheduling and Planning:
Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
Coordinate with other departments (Plant Manager, Quality Control, Maintenance) to ensure adequate resources (materials, tools, etc.) are available for production.
Quality Assurance:
Address any issues related to product defects, non-compliance, or quality concerns and report issues to quality team members. Follow hold procedures for non-conforming product.
Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, ISO certifications, FDA, and other regulatory requirements by monitoring production processes and conducting regular quality checks.
Conduct internal audits of processes and systems to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct safety audits and ensure that all safety equipment is functioning and being used correctly.
Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety protocols.
Troubleshoot and Resolve Production Issues:
Identify and address production bottlenecks, machinery malfunctions, or any issues that may disrupt production flow.
Work with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure the equipment is properly maintained.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance operational productivity.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate production records, including logs of equipment maintenance, employee performance, and production output.
Generate daily reports/shift summaries for management regarding production performance and efficiency.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments to address production-related issues and ensure smooth operations.
Lead team meetings to discuss production goals, challenges, and process improvements.
Shift Management:
Supervise and assign tasks to team members during shifts, ensuring that production schedules are met.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality control standards.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for entirety of shift.
Ability to lift up to [50] pounds regularly.
Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and warehouse conditions.
Work Environment:
May be required to work weekends or overtime depending on production needs.
