Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role focuses on guiding “opportunity youth” ages 15–21 through a flexible, self-paced curriculum with a blend of academic and career tech training, preparing them for successful futures.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Demonstrated experience with secondary students in special education
• Strong ability to individualize instruction for diverse learners
• Skilled at creating structured, supportive, and positive classroom environments
• Collaborative spirit, able to work with counselors, support staff, and administration
• Passion for alternative education models and helping students overcome academic challenges

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement specialized lesson plans adapting to students’ unique learning profiles
• Provide targeted interventions and accommodations for academic and career tech coursework
• Monitor student progress, documenting outcomes and adjusting strategies as needed
• Foster a safe, inclusive space where students feel respected and empowered
• Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to address academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families to encourage student growth
• Support a culture focused on graduation and readiness for sustainable, living-wage employment

This contract assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through June 25, 2027, with 40 hours per week in a dynamic public charter environment dedicated to student success.
