Maintenance Manager
Position Summary
The Company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to support the construction, commissioning, startup, and operation of a large-scale open-pit oxide gold project. This role is responsible for leading the maintenance function for both mobile equipment and fixed plant infrastructure, including the mining fleet, crushing and conveying systems, heap leach facilities, ADR plant, refinery, workshops, utilities, and site support infrastructure.
As a key member of the site leadership team, the Maintenance Manager will establish safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance systems that support operational readiness, equipment availability, asset reliability, and long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Leadership
· Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, company standards, and site procedures.
· Lead, develop, and mentor maintenance personnel, contractors, and support teams.
· Provide visible field leadership and support incident investigations and corrective actions.
Maintenance & Reliability
· Oversee maintenance planning and execution for mobile and fixed plant assets.
· Develop preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
· Manage shutdowns, rebuilds, inspections, lubrication programs, and critical spares.
· Lead reliability improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and performance monitoring.
· Ensure CMMS systems, maintenance records, and KPI reporting are effectively maintained.
Project Development & Operational Readiness
· Support engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
· Assist with maintenance budgeting, staffing plans, training programs, and maintenance system implementation.
· Support startup planning, equipment preservation, and transition into operations.
Budgeting & Contractor Management
· Develop and manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives.
· Manage contractors, OEMs, vendors, and service providers to ensure safe and cost-effective work execution.
· Collaborate with operations, supply chain, technical services, and project teams to align maintenance priorities with operational goals.
Required Qualifications
· Significant maintenance leadership experience in mining, heavy industrial, or asset-intensive operations.
· Strong experience with both mobile equipment and fixed plant maintenance.
· Experience supporting construction, commissioning, and startup of mining or industrial projects.
· Knowledge of preventive maintenance, reliability practices, planning and scheduling, and CMMS systems.
· Strong understanding of MSHA regulations and safe work practices.
· Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
· Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related discipline.
· Experience with heap leach operations, ADR plants, crushing systems, conveyors, and solution handling infrastructure.
· Experience implementing CMMS systems and developing maintenance programs for startup operations.
· Prior experience in U.S. surface mining operations.
