Job Description
Job Title: Outside Machinist
Location: Goose Creek, SC
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $35.00/hour
Per Diem: $120/day (Non-Local Employees Only)
Bonus: Hire Bonus
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support precision manufacturing and machining operations in Goose Creek, SC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating manual machine tools, interpreting technical drawings, and producing high-quality components to exact specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, precision measurement skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and precision machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining sequences and setup requirements
- Calculate dimensions, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds using standard shop mathematics
- Measure, mark, and lay out stock for machining using precision measuring instruments
- Utilize machinist hand tools and inspection equipment to ensure parts meet exact tolerances
- Fit and assemble precision components into mechanical equipment
- Determine materials, parts, and tooling required for production
- Modify and adjust numerically controlled (NC) programs as needed
- Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with statistical process control and quality procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of related machining experience
- Strong blueprint reading and technical interpretation skills
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Experience with NC/CNC programming modifications preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent technical training preferred
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
