Job Description
Responsibilities:
The Operator is responsible for working safe and for all quality and reporting of the product being produced per their assigned line or lines. They must be attentive and self-motivated. must also be able to work as a team. He/She must be good at communicating with others. The amount of equipment and processes used requires attention to detail and ability to keep pace with the process in order to minimize setup time and scrap.
Duties:
To include but not limited to:
· Inspect for quality per specification sheet
· Read and comprehend a standard US English tape measure
· Read, comprehend, and follow all specifications in the job folder and anywhere in the job folder
· Proficient with math and reading
· Complete all required paperwork (batch sheet, scrap log, quality forms, parameter sheets, any special customer requirements, any other forms needed
· How to read a batch sheet and communicate with Material Handler that the batch/mix is correct
· Assist Process Technician during trouble shooting, changeovers, startups, line set setup and shutdown
· Drain Resin hoppers
· Monitor production speeds
· Assist in training new production operators
· Use color/additive feeders
· Cut plastic from cores using a utility knife and wearing proper PPE
· Cut cores using a table saw
· Maintain ink/solvent levels in print presses
· Maintain a clean environment in all areas of the facility
· Using the correct sized pallet, stacking finished goods on the pallet, and wrapping and labeling a finished pallet per customer specifications
· Able to perform these duties on any production line in P1 facility including accessory equipment such as Pelletizer or Munchy
· Be professional and be a part of the team
· Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as through the use of micrometers and record product and process parameters
· Package product according to instructions
· Keep extrusions lines, equipment and surrounding areas clean and orderly
· Keep the plant clean and orderly at all times
· Assist Supervisor with other daily operations as needed and assigned
· Use lifting equipment and fork trucks on a regular basis
· Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
· Able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Capable of lifting 50+ pounds unassisted; to include carrying it upstairs at times
· Able to stand on feet for long periods of time
· Climb stairs, crouch, kneel, bend
· Reliable transportation
· Must be able to wear required PPE such as; steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves and/or ear protection
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
· 1+years working in a manufacturing environment
· Strong work ethic and organizational skills
· Able to multi-task in a fast paced manufacturing environment
· Must pass Light Industrial Math assessment and/or Core Measurements
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficiency in English
· Good communication skills combined with ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
· Detail Oriented
