Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility for events
Location: Montrose, Colorado
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Pay Range: $34.35–$39.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY:
The Grief Counselor is responsible for providing counseling, education and support to bereaved clients who are coping with serious illness and/or death of a loved one through phone calls, counseling sessions and group support. This person will serve as a resource on psychosocial issues related to coping with a serious illness or grief for other staff and members of our community. The bereavement counselor will attend and facilitate summer camps and other bereavement events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s degree in counseling field and/or social work required.
- Experience: One year’s experience in counseling and grief work preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Active and unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of Colorado preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to set priorities, manage competing demands, and consistently follow through.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and respectfully in a wide range of situations, including highly emotional or stressful interactions.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to clearly speak in front of a group.
- Facilitation of groups of individuals and or teams.
