Affordable Movers is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic to oversee fleet maintenance operations in Dayton, Ohio. This role is ideal for a highly skilled mechanic who can diagnose and repair vehicles while leading and mentoring a team of technicians.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure fleet readiness and performance
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on gas and diesel-powered vehicles
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, brake, and HVAC systems
• Schedule and prioritize repairs to minimize vehicle downtime
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and ensure DOT compliance
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
• Train, mentor, and develop mechanics and technicians
• Coordinate parts ordering and inventory management
• Promote a safe, organized, and productive shop environment

Requirements:

• ASE Certification required (Master Technician certification preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of automotive or fleet maintenance experience
• Previous experience leading or supervising a maintenance team
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience with box trucks, commercial vehicles, or fleet operations preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift equipment and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills

ASE certification demonstrates verified technical knowledge and experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, and many employers use it as a benchmark for advanced technicians and shop leaders.
