Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
· Respond to management requests courteously, professionally, and in a timely and efficient manner.
· Respond to guest’s reasonable requests courteously, professionally, and in a timely and efficient manner.
· Follow safety procedures and identify and report safety concerns.
· Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using baskets and wheeled carts.
· Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, walkways, stairways, and other work areas to meet health standards.
· Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
· Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
· Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
· Observe precautions required to protect employees, motel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to front desk and supervisors.
· Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
· Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
· Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
· Remove debris from parking lots and common areas.
· Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
· Load washing machines, dryers, and iron and fold dried items.
· Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store.
· Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
· Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
· Hang draperies and dust window blinds.
· Request repair services in writing on maintenance request forms.
· Replace light bulbs.
· Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses.
· Restock, change linens and towels and ensure cleanliness standards are met in each room.
· Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Must be able to stand and walk for eight hours per day.
· Must be able to perform moderate work; exerting in excess of 70 pounds of force occasionally, in excess of 35 pounds of force frequently, and in excess of 25 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
· Must be 18 or older.
· High school diploma, trade school or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
· Able to receive and give instructions and respond to management and guest concerns politely in English both verbally and in writing.
· Able to work flexible shifts and long hours as required.
· Able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
· Able to work without climate controls in hot or cold weather for extended periods of time.
· Excellent guest service and communication skills.
· Flexible availability as the schedule rotates and includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.
