Job Title: Onsite Medical Representative (Vacaville, CA)
Job Description

The Onsite Medical Representative provides first aid, health guidance, and safety support for associates in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role partners closely with Workplace Health & Safety team members to promote a safe and healthy workplace, manage on-site injuries and illnesses, and support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs. The position follows a training schedule of Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 to 15:30 and a regular shift schedule of Tuesday to Saturday from 16:30 to 00:30.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and administer first aid to associates for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide first aid support and refer associates to external medical providers when necessary.
  • Educate and coach associates to minimize risk of injury through awareness, training, and proactive engagement.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to associates.
  • Coordinate and support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports in a timely manner.
  • Engage regularly with associates and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is stocked and ready for use.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
  • Maintain current first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support credentials as required.
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, as business needs require.
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with site procedures.
  • Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and support site emergency response efforts.
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and actively contribute to safety initiatives.
  • Greet new hires and provide health and safety orientation and guidance during onboarding and daily interactions.
  • Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to discuss ongoing cases and return-to-work plans.
  • Collaborate with Workplace Health & Safety leadership and specialists to support safety operations and initiatives on site.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
  • Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from a Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Ability to assess and administer first aid for a variety of injuries and illnesses in an industrial environment.
  • Capability to maintain detailed and accurate medical records and activity logs.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Comfort working in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions, including areas with stairs.
  • Commitment to obtaining adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of start date if not already held.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Experience working in an industrial wellness or occupational health program.
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching associates on proper body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Proficiency in digital record keeping and electronic documentation systems.
  • Recent (within the last year) six months of job experience in the Military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force).
Work Environment

This role is based on-site in an industrial operations facility. The training schedule is Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 to 15:30, transitioning to a regular shift schedule of Tuesday to Saturday from 16:30 to 00:30. The position requires standing and walking for up to 12 hours per shift and frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching, including lifting up to 49 pounds. The work environment includes varying noise levels and exposure to variable temperatures and weather conditions, particularly in delivery and loading areas that may be outdoors. The facility may include multiple levels and stairs that must be climbed and descended repeatedly. The Onsite Medical Representative works closely with safety and operations teams on the floor, uses digital tools for record keeping and reporting, and operates in a clean, organized medical space where appropriate medical supplies and equipment such as first aid materials, CPR, and AED devices are maintained and readily available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
