Hybrid- MUST live in Kentucky. 2 days remote only
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations for a transport organization in Georgetown, Kentucky. This role will lead the monthly close process, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and support accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on approach to reconciliations and journal entries, and the ability to coordinate effectively with auditors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the month-end closing cycle to ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
• Maintain and review general ledger activity, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues that affect financial accuracy.
• Prepare and approve journal entries with supporting documentation in accordance with accounting standards and company policy.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and follow through on outstanding items to keep balances current and reliable.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and provide analysis that helps leadership understand operating results.
• Coordinate audit-related requests, organize required schedules, and act as a key contact during financial statement audit activities.
• Oversee daily accounting workflows and help strengthen processes that improve control, consistency, and efficiency.
• Utilize Sage 300 to manage accounting records, reporting needs, and routine financial transactions.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and general ledger management.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience supporting or participating in financial statement audits.
• Working knowledge of Sage 300 or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting practices.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership.
Degree in Accounting required.
