The Sanitation Supervisor oversees the sanitation team to ensure the facility consistently meets all cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory standards. This role leads sanitation operations, develops and maintains sanitation programs, and partners closely with food safety, operations, and auditing teams to support a safe and efficient food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the sanitation team across all shifts, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Train sanitation staff on proper cleaning procedures, food safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve sanitation procedures and programs, including the Master Sanitation Program.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to verify compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cleaning schedules, sanitation activities, and inspection results.
- Collaborate with food safety, quality, and operations teams to address sanitation issues and improve processes.
- Work directly with auditors and support audit preparation and follow-up related to sanitation and food safety.
- Monitor sanitation program effectiveness and drive measurable results in cleanliness, food safety, and compliance.
- Ensure proper use of sanitation chemicals, tools, and equipment according to established procedures.
- Identify opportunities to enhance sanitation efficiency while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Sanitation Programs and Master Sanitation Records, with the ability to drive program results.
- Strong knowledge of food safety principles and practices.
- Experience working with auditors and supporting audit activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Food Safety and Operations teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including team supervision, training, and performance management.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a food manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations related to food safety and sanitation.
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in food production.
- Proficiency in sanitizing procedures, sanitation chemicals, and cleaning equipment.
- Experience maintaining and using a Master Sanitation Record or similar documentation system.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping and scheduling.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across departments.
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility and primarily follows Monday–Friday day shift hours. The Sanitation Supervisor supports staff on all shifts and adjusts their schedule as needed to provide guidance and oversight to team members working outside of standard daytime hours. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with regular interaction with sanitation staff, food safety personnel, operations teams, and auditors. The facility operates under strict food safety and GMP standards, and work involves being on the production floor, monitoring sanitation activities, and verifying cleanliness and compliance. The organization offers training and development opportunities and supports advancement from within across multiple locations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.85 - $28.85/hr.
