Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker, Helena, MT

Central Plumbing, Heating, Excavation is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our commercial construction team. This role is responsible for the fabrication, installation, and modification of HVAC duct systems and associated sheet metal components on commercial job sites. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Journeyman Sheet Metal Certification
• Minimum of 4 years of commercial sheet metal installation experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC duct systems, sheet metal fabrication, and installation practices
• GED or High School Diploma
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey instructions, coordinate with field crews, and communicate with foremen, project managers, and other trades.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication equipment
• Ability to supervise and direct field personnel, if necessary, while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety and safe work practices
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Compliance with Central’s Drug & Alcohol Policy

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to walk, climb, lift, and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds
• Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Frequent overhead work
• Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding for extended periods

• Visual and auditory acuity required for active construction environments
