Under the direction of the Warehouse General Manager, the Warehouse Associate plays a key role in efficiently loading and unloading merchandise while maintaining a safe and organized environment. This role requires operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, stock pickers, and pallet jacks to move inventory efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years of warehouse, delivery, moving, construction, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to pass forklift and warehouse equipment certification.
• Familiarity with AS400 or similar inventory management systems preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
• Receive, sort, stock, and organize merchandise efficiently.
• Pick, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Assist customers during merchandise pick-up and verify order accuracy.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, and other approved equipment while following all safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Properly handle chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with company and DOT guidelines.
• Communicate customer concerns, inventory discrepancies, and operational issues to management promptly.
Spa Delivery & Customer Support
• Assist with the delivery, placement, and transportation of spas, swim spas, patio furniture, and other oversized merchandise.
• Safely maneuver large products using dollies, sleds, lift equipment, straps, and approved moving tools.
• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure products are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections to verify merchandise is complete and free from visible damage.
• Communicate professionally with customers during deliveries and provide exceptional customer service.
• Document delivery concerns, property conditions, customer requests, and site challenges as needed.
• Assist with setup preparation and basic customer education when appropriate.
• Maintain delivery equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and safe working condition.
• Follow all safety procedures to protect employees, customers, property, and merchandise during delivery activities.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Use proper lifting techniques and required safety equipment.
• Immediately report accidents, injuries, equipment concerns, or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable DOT safety requirements.
Physical Demands
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Participate in team lifts involving significantly heavier products, including spas and outdoor furniture.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and repetitive movement.
• Ability to work at heights up to 34 feet using approved lift equipment.
• Ability to navigate customer properties, stairs, uneven terrain, and tight delivery spaces.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Potential exposure to pool and spa chemicals.
Work Environment
• Fast-paced warehouse and delivery environment.
• Combination of warehouse, outdoor, and customer-home settings.
• Focus on teamwork, safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
Schedule & Availability
• Primarily day shifts.
• Weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
Travel
• Frequent travel to customer homes and delivery locations throughout Illinois and Indiana.
• Occasional travel between stores, distribution facilities, and the Corporate Office.
