Location:
New York, NY - Hybrid, 3 days onsite
Pay: $35-37/Hr (W2)
Duration: Initial 12-month contract (expected extension/conversion)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hrs/week (Mon-Fri)
Target Start: May/ASAP 2026

Job Overview:

Seeking a Music Publishing Operations Specialist with 2+ years of experience in operations or data-focused roles. This role supports high-volume publishing workflows, improves data quality, and helps scale operations through automation and process improvements.

What You'll Do:
  • Support daily publishing operations (task coordination, workflows, documentation)
  • Triage and route external partner inquiries
  • Perform quality checks on monthly reports
  • Research and verify music publishing ownership data
  • Execute data quality initiatives (identify issues, track resolution)
  • Assist with data ingestion, validation, and QA
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation efforts (including AI tools)
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve data and operational issues
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of publishing data
  • Manage repeatable, high-volume workflows
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Monitor operational metrics and flag risks
  • Maintain clear documentation and SOPs
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in operations, data management, or similar
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments
Must Have Skills:
  • Ticket/case management or triage experience
  • Report QC / data auditing experience
  • Experience with process automation tools
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AI/automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, scripting basics, workflow automation platforms)
  • Experience researching publishing ownership information using third-party tools.
  • Knowledge of music rights management tools.
    • Familiarity with royalty/metadata/ownership data
    • Experience with CWR, DDEX, or similar formats
    • Experience with automation tools (e.g., SQL, Python)
