About this job
Job Description
We’re hiring both CNC Machinists and 5-Axis CNC Machinists for a high-mix, low-volume precision shop supporting aerospace and defense programs. Expect complex prints, frequent setups, prototype and production work, and tight tolerances where details matter, because these parts go into mission-critical systems tied to national security, not consumer products.
Machinists here don’t just run parts, they run the process. You’ll own work from setup through final inspection, applying GD&T, managing tooling and offsets, making smart program adjustments when needed, and troubleshooting until the job is right. We value people who bring strong machining fundamentals, think clearly under pressure, and take pride in clean, repeatable work.
We’re hiring on both 1st and 2nd shift and offer 10+ hours/week of overtime (always available, never required). If you want a shop where your skill and judgment matter, and where you can build a long-term aerospace career, let’s talk.
Compensation
CNC Machinist
- $27 – $32 / hour base
- 2nd Shift Premium Available
- Up to $90k / year with optional overtime
5-Axis CNC Machinist
- $33 – $38 / hour base
- 10% shift premium on 2nd
- Up to $120k / year with optional overtime
Shifts
- Monday – Friday
- 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
- 2nd Shift: 3:00pm – 12:30am
CNC Machinist
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes in a precision job-shop environment
- Run work end-to-end: setup, run, inspect, and document results
- Interpret complex blueprints, routings, and work instructions
- Apply GD&T to ensure parts meet critical functional requirements
- Select tooling, set offsets, and build effective workholding strategies
- Perform in-process and final inspection using precision measuring tools
- Hold tight tolerances and own part quality from first piece through final run
- Read CNC programs and make practical edits/adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and process issues
- Support both proven and new/unfamiliar jobs efficiently
5-Axis CNC Machinist
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling centers in a precision aerospace environment
- Run highly complex work end-to-end, including prototype and unproven setups
- Interpret highly complex prints, engineering models, and GD&T requirements
- Build advanced workholding strategies and manage multi-axis tool clearances/collision avoidance
- Read, write, and confidently edit G/M-code and multi-axis offsets at the machine
- Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability and process efficiency
- Perform rigorous first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Troubleshoot complex machining and process issues independently
- Take full ownership of setup strategy, process stability, and final part quality

- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision environment
- Strong ability to independently set up jobs
- Confidence reading blueprints and applying GD&T
- Experience holding tight tolerances and verifying with manual inspection tools
- Ability to read CNC programs and make practical machine-side adjustments
- G/M-code editing experience strongly preferred
- Strong machining fundamentals: speeds/feeds, tooling, chip control, tool wear
- Quality-first mindset with strong documentation habits
5-Axis CNC Machinist
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience with deep hands-on 5-axis experience
- Must be fluent setting up and running 5-axis machines independently
- Extensive experience with complex multi-axis setups, offsets, and workholding strategies
- High-level understanding of 5-axis machine motion, tool clearances, and collision avoidance
- Strong G/M-code editing and machine-side troubleshooting ability
- Proven experience holding tight tolerances on complex aerospace geometries
- Advanced GD&T interpretation and inspection capability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in high-complexity machining environments
