Responsibilities:
- Respond to service calls and diagnose issues with fire alarm and life safety systems
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, programming, and system testing
- Service and maintain systems from multiple manufacturers (including SimplexGrinnell)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers to identify issues and provide solutions
- Complete service documentation using mobile devices and customer systems
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service needs as required
- Maintain inventory and ensure readiness of tools and equipment
- Identify system improvements and recommend upgrades or solutions (upselling opportunities)
- Support, mentor, and collaborate with team members when needed
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in:
- Fire alarm and life safety system or low voltage systems (access control, intrusion, or related)
- Strong troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
- Working knowledge of test equipment (multimeter, analyzers, etc.)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call rotation
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II certification (or actively pursuing)
- Technical training or certification in electronics or fire systems
- Experience with CCTV, IP networks, and integrated security systems
- Prior experience with system programming and commissioning
Salary Range:
$26.00 – $34.00 per hour (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
