How you’ll make an impact in this role

Operate a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat of pathologies.

  • Prepare and position patient and select anatomic and technical parameter accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develop film in an automatic processor.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

One or more of the following required:

  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.  General Radiography is also required in addition to any specialty. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Maryland Board of Physicians.
  • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. General Radiography is also required in addition to any specialty. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • Operate MRI scanners efficiently, accurately selecting anatomic and technical parameters to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnosis and treatment.

  • Perform rigorous safety pre-screening (verifying implants/contraindications), position patients compassionately, and provide clear education regarding the examination.

  • Manage patient data accurately and ensure the prompt submission of high-quality images and complete documentation to PACS.

  • Strictly adhere to MRI safety protocols, monitor equipment for proper functionality, and immediately report any technical malfunctions.

  • Assist with patient scheduling, workflow coordination, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized clinical environment.
