VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (nurse) to supervise our Specialty Service teams
We are a growing hybrid hospital and proud to be one of the premier providers of primary, specialty, and emergency care in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Our hospital operates 24/7/365, serving clients with dedication and compassion.
Specialty Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (Nurse)
- Experience in Surgery and/or Emergency preferred
- Provide input on service development and equipment needs
- Oversee department scheduling and time‑off requests
- Work collaboratively with team members across all hospital services
- Coach associates to support their success and professional growth
- Facilitate communication of ideas, policies, standards, and performance expectations
- Provide feedback on associate performance and collaborate with leadership on improvement plans
- Support associates through VTNE preparation, licensure guidance, and schedule coordination
- Maintain technical skill proficiency and up‑to‑date knowledge
- Regional travel may be needed for training and development meetings
Potential Schedule: Swing, Days, Evenings, and Weekends.
Compensation: $32 - $36 / hr based on skills, experience, and licensure status. (CVT, VTS)
