Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart (OH) specialty position located in Falls Church, Virginia. This role involves supporting complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, requiring recent specialized experience. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Falls Church, Virginia
- Required Qualifications: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification, Virginia license required at submittal, current BLS (American Heart Association) certification, and two years of recent scrub experience in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. No minimum experience years indicated.
- Schedule: 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM, 13 hours per day, with 1-2 call shifts per week including weekends, approximately 1-2 weekends per 6-week schedule; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional information: Experience with coronary artery bypass, valve repair, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip), thoracic organ transplants, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and emergent cases preferred. Ability to multitask, apply critical thinking, and participate in ongoing research protocols required. Must be adaptable to floating within scope, with ongoing holiday and rotating schedule expectations. Parking is available on-site at no cost.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- On-Call: 1-2 call shifts per week, including occasional weekends and holidays rotated per departmental needs.
- Epic access: Not required.
- Additional notes: Certification and licensing compliance are mandatory; understand overtime may be necessary.
