Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our Blood Bank team in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will have prior blood bank experience and be licensed to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State. This role is responsible for performing complex laboratory testing, ensuring accurate results, and supporting transfusion services while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood bank testing and procedures in accordance with established laboratory standards.
- Conduct compatibility testing, blood typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching.
- Prepare, process, and maintain blood products for transfusion.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory results.
- Adhere to quality control, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and facility policies.
- Troubleshoot equipment and resolve testing issues as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to support patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) License.
- Minimum of 1 year of Blood Bank experience.
- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of blood bank procedures and laboratory regulations.
