Job Summary:
A Pathology Assistant position is available in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This role involves assisting in the preparation and dissection of surgical specimens, ensuring accurate gross descriptions, and supporting departmental operations to deliver high-quality pathology services. Candidates are required to bring their Pathologists' Assistant certification on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Completion of NAACLS Accredited Pathologists Assistant Program, ASCP Certified or exam-ready with certification prior to start date, with prior grossing experience preferred.
- Responsibilities: Maintain specimen identification accuracy, perform surgical specimen dissection, prepare and report gross descriptions, perform frozen sections, and ensure proper equipment maintenance and specimen disposal. Interpret various clinical presentations of disease and apply technical knowledge to facilitate accurate diagnostic results. Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance, keeping procedures current and compliant with CAP standards.
- Additional Information: The role involves effective communication with pathologists and providers, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing additional department duties as needed.
