Title: Construction Engineer Level 2
Department: Construction
Employment Type: PRN/As-Needed
Work Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid
Position Overview
Are you a Certified Construction Engineer Level 2 and looking for a flexible way to work? We are seeking a certified Construction Engineer Level 2 to serve as the primary liaison between contractors and the engineer in observing and monitoring on-site work.
Requirements:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Requirements: Professional Engineers (PE) License in Ohio and ODOT Construction Engineer 2 (CE2) credential.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office and computer-aided design
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate inspection of project work
- Ensure work performed by contractors is in compliance with all state and federal specifications
- Correlate and analyze field data, review plans and records, support and prepare change orders
- Assist with dispute resolution, estimates, conduct progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes and other related duties
- Finalize or assist with finalizing and closing out the project
- Perform data entry into ODOT’s CMS/SITE MANAGER system or local documentation equivalent as directed by the project engineer or LPA person in responsible

Physical and Travel Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Local travel during business hours may be required.

Supervisor Responsibility
This position does not directly manage staff; however, future leadership and advancement opportunities may be available within Environmental Design Group.
