Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Critical Care Stepdown position in Florence, AL, requiring cardiac drips and chest tube experience on a 13-week night shift contract.
Details
- Located on the 2nd floor PCU/Critical Care Stepdown unit of a Level II Trauma hospital
- Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including post-vascular surgery, post-CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, chest pain, and post-cath lab
- Patient ratio of 1:4–1:5 on a 31-bed unit
- Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps
- EMR: Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating possible to med/surg, though not likely
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- ADN or BSN required
- Cardiac drips and chest tube experience required
- Critical care stepdown or PCU experience preferred
- TR band experience preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
