Job Summary:
The city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist specializing in ultrasonography to join the healthcare organization. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures, including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), stress echos, and peripheral vascular studies, to assist cardiologists with accurate diagnoses. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.
Job Details:
- Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in the performance of advanced cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
- Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures, including TEE and stress echo, and peripheral vascular procedures such as arterial, renal, and transcranial Doppler studies.
- Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures.
- Operates equipment necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings and uses ancillary devices such as transducers and digital networking systems.
- Exercises appropriate judgment in notifying the reading physician of abnormal results and reports findings to the cardiologist.
- Maintains proper documentation of data in accordance with lab, departmental, and hospital policies.
- Documents all procedures accurately in departmental tracking systems and patient charts.
- Processes charging and other necessary data efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborates in maintaining departmental efficiency and supports unit/hospital goals through quality assurance and educational activities.
- Maintains current competency and registration (ARDMS or CCI) in the appropriate specialties.
- Demonstrates initiative in personal and professional development.
- Ensures compliance with mandatory hospital and departmental education standards.
- Participates in departmental quality assurance and accreditation processes.
- Practices infection control, promotes patient and staff safety, and maintains confidentiality.
- Collaborates effectively with healthcare team members.
- Works independently with critical thinking skills and has the ability to serve in an on-call rotation after regular hours.
- Works dayshift, starting from June 29, 2026, with a schedule of 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, graduate of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound certification program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- BLS certification.
- Six (6) months of related experience.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding Cardiac Ultrasound results.
- Ability to serve in an on-call rotation after regular business hours.
- Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Experience: 0-3 years, with at least 6 months of related experience and 1 year of traveler experience preferred.
