Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery / OB ED night shift position in Austin, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and active fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- 32-bed Labor & Delivery unit located on the 4th floor of an acute care hospital in Austin, TX
- Staffed by a charge nurse, co-charge nurse, and RNs on both day and night shifts
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Performs procedures including SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLACs
- Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
- EMR: Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Alternating weekends required
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), S.T.A.B.L.E., and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
- SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
- Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) experience required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing laboring patients through SVD, cerclage, C-section, and TOLAC cases
- Internal monitor placement competency is preferred
- Experience in a high-volume Level IV unit is preferred
- Previous HCA assignment or employment is preferred
- Navy blue scrubs required; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — t-shirts are not acceptable
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment start date
