Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CV Surgery ICU position in Rochester, MN, requiring at least 2 years of acute care ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Highly specialized adult cardiac surgery and heart/lung transplant ICU providing advanced postoperative management of care
- 13-week contract, 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
- Day/Night rotation (7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with straight nights also available (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Floating required as needed
- On-site only; no telework
- Charting performed in Epic
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS (AHA or American Red Cross); certifications must not expire within 3 months of start date
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience required
- 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required, or a minimum of 3 completed travel assignments
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, associate, or diploma nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited); if not accredited, at least 1 year of RN experience in an applicable setting within the last 5 years is required
- CVS ICU experience preferred
- Experience with VADs, Impella, ECMO, and balloon pumps preferred
- CCRN certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for coordination of nursing care including direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions
- Functions within a professional nursing practice model encompassing planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of patient care
- May serve in preceptor and informal leadership roles and contribute to quality improvement efforts
- Delegates patient care appropriately based on skill level, acuity, and available resources
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts due to low census over the course of the 13-week assignment
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a break is required before returning to a new assignment
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel experience requirement
