GENERAL PURPOSE
Provide safety and environmental health support for assigned location(s). Work within standard operating procedures, under a moderate degree of supervision.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide safety training and refresher training to employees. This may include but is not limited to accident investigation, bloodborne pathogen to first aid/CPR, confined space entry awareness, electrical safety, emergency action, fall protection, hazard communication, hearing conservation, heat stress, general safety, lift truck (forklift) including hoist operation, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection
· Perform plant inspections, such as for emergency eyewash/shower stations, ladders, first aid cabinets, fire extinguishers, etc.
· Assist in accident investigations (e.g., take required information to include pictures, measurements associated with an accident and aid HR in preparing the proper documents)
· Provide safety presentations which may including developing Power Point presentations and other materials
· Provide environmental training and refresher training to employees. This may include but is not limited to universal waste, storm water prevention, and spill prevention and countermeasure
· Perform environmental inspections, such as air quality, universal waste, water quality, chemical storage areas, spill materials, etc.
· Maintain documents and inspection forms; review and maintain internal safety policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate
· Assist with location audits to identify and develop corrective action plans for at-risk behaviors and conditions which may cause injury or property loss
· Assist with EHS compliance tracking, workers’ compensation claim recordkeeping, updates into EHS related databases, data entry, program updates, and other similar activities
· Assist in the development and administration of required policies and procedures for OSHA and EPA compliance
· Support efforts at all locations to ensure a culture of consistently safe behavior and compliance with OSHA and EPA, both federal and state

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School Diploma or GED
· Undergraduate degree in industrial safety or related field preferred
· 1 to 3 years of plant operations/manufacturing experience coupled with the knowledge of and/or aptitude to perform safety and environmental health duties
· 1 to 3 years of safety and environmental health experience preferred
· Certification and/or License – ASP/CSP or related certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements, both federal and state regulations
· Basic knowledge of safety principles
· Familiarity with the workers’ compensation process
· Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
· Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
· Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
· Able to follow directions
· Able to multi-task and organize own work activities
· Must be willing to travel locally within 3 locations
