Overview

As a Cath Lab Technician (Cardiology Tech Invasive), you’ll be a key member of a multidisciplinary cardiac care team, supporting advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures in a modern invasive cardiology setting. You’ll work alongside cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and RNs in a fast-paced lab that features dedicated interventional, EP, and hybrid rooms—providing critical support from patient prep through post-procedure care. This role is ideal for clinicians who thrive on precision, collaboration, and the satisfaction of seeing their skills help save lives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cardiac interventional catheterization
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing for cath lab procedures
- Strong ability to:
- Monitor and assess patient condition during procedures
- Perform accurate calculations for cardiac diagnosis and treatment
- Recognize normal vs. abnormal ECGs and interpret multiple data streams
- Make timely, accurate decisions in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency operating and maintaining complex electrical and imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, monitoring and recording systems)
- High level of comfort assisting physicians in both cath lab and OR environments
- Competence in safely calculating and administering medications
- Skilled in maintaining a safe radiologic environment and consistent use of PPE (lead apron, thyroid shield, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and clinical staff
- Physical capability to lift and position patients and work on your feet for extended periods
- Flexibility to work varied schedules and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with complex cardiac cases such as:
- CTO and high-risk interventional cardiac cath
- Pacemaker implants (including leadless devices)
- Watchman procedures
- Atrial and ventricular ablations
- Familiarity with EP procedures, tilt tests, TEEs, and PE thrombectomies
- Experience in a hybrid OR/cath setting
- Comfort managing inventory with FIFO methods and supporting accurate procedural billing
Preferred Education and Experience
- Required minimum: Vocational/Technical Degree in one of the following:
- RCIS
- Radiologic Technology
- Accredited Electrophysiology program
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Prior experience working in a multi-room cath/EP lab environment is strongly preferred
Other Requirements
- ARRT certification (or equivalent, as appropriate to background)
- Active Ohio licensure (must be obtained prior to submission)
- Ability and willingness to work 10-hour day shifts
- Call participation required (details discussed during interview with facility manager)
- Comfort working with adolescent through geriatric patient populations
- Willingness to complete a secondary interview following clinical review
