Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg PCU night shift position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring at least 5 years of experience and the ability to perform charge nurse duties.
Details
- Critical access hospital setting with 25 beds
- PCU, Med/Surg, and telemetry patient population
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Floating to other units (ED, MCH) required based on need
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active VT RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- Critical access hospital, PCU, or telemetry experience required
- Must be able to work independently and perform charge nurse duties
Additional Information
- Attendance at department quarterly education sessions is required
- Personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation in the area is limited
- The hospital is located in Newport, VT, a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom, known for outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling
