Job Summary
The location is Watertown, New York. This Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) position involves working in the operating room setting with a focus on orthopedic procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role includes assisting during surgical procedures, maintaining sterile environments, and working under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, valid operating room license, no minimum experience required, located in New York, with travel experience, orthopedic experience, and scrubbing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Da Vinci surgical system experience.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Must be certified. Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine and delegated duties according to hospital and department standards and policies. Candidate will perform technical duties related to scrub personnel, including reacting efficiently and precisely to all situations, and assist with departmental work as assigned. Surgical techs play a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical room, ensuring surgical equipment functions properly and assisting surgeons during procedures. Must arrive within 1/2 hour of being called in. No artificial nails or eyelashes are permitted per hospital policy.
