Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Lakewood, Colorado

Start Date: 06-22-2026

End Date: 09-21-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable start times between 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM, primarily covering 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, with on-call requirements 1 night every 6 weeks including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care for diverse surgical patients including ortho, trauma, cardiac, urology, pulmonary, and GI cases
• Monitor and interpret cardiac strips while caring for ICU patients recovering in the PACU setting
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient transitions and optimal outcomes
• Respond to on-call needs within a 1-hour window to support critical patient care needs
• Float to support the surgery center as needed while maintaining high standards of care
• Utilize Epic EMR to document patient progress and coordinate with the healthcare team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact license
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• ED or ICU experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Ability to work variable shifts and participate in on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• PACU nursing expertise with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery skills
• Strong cardiac monitoring and strip interpretation abilities
• Experience caring for diverse surgical populations including ortho, trauma, and cardiac patients
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to respond to call within 1 hour
