General Laborer / Lumber Yard
Location: NE Portland, OR
Shift: Day Shift | Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $19.00/hour
About the Role
We are hiring a General Laborer (Lumber yard ) for a premier manufacturing company in Northeast Portland. We specialize in producing premium lumber products for wholesale distributors worldwide.
We are looking for an eager-to-learn team player who shows up on time every day, can accurately read a tape measure, and brings a solid year of recent experience in finish carpentry, cabinet making, or professional woodworking with a strong focus on precision cutting and shop safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Count, stack, tag, and band lumber products.
- Facilities Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment (including sweeping and general shop upkeep).
- Physical Labor: Safely lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Skills Development: Train and learn to safely operate shop equipment, including saws, sanders, and forklifts.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of recent experience in finish carpentry, cabinetry, or professional woodworking.
- Strong understanding of shop safety practices and precision cutting.
- Proficient at reading a tape measure accurately.
- Excellent attendance record and reliable daily transportation.
- Valid Driver's License.
