Job Description
AIT Ambulance (Ambulance and Airlift Team) is hiring EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics at our Albuquerque base. Whether you're starting your EMS career or you're a seasoned provider, we have a place for you — with multiple shift options, a supportive crew, and real room to grow.
We provide ground ambulance, interfacility transport, and air medical standby services across New Mexico, giving our crews diverse, hands-on clinical experience you won't find everywhere.
PAY BY CERTIFICATION LEVEL
• EMT: $15–$18/hour
• AEMT: $18–$22/hour
• Paramedic: $22–$26/hour
(Rate depends on certification level and experience)
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing patient care within your scope of practice
• Perform interfacility transports and assist with air medical (fixed-wing and helicopter) standby coordination
• Accurately document patient care and complete required reports
• Operate and maintain ambulance equipment and supplies
• Work collaboratively with crew members, dispatch, and receiving facilities
WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive pay based on certification and experience
• Comprehensive benefits — health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan
• Training and advancement — in-house continuing education, CEU support, and clear pathways to grow from EMT to AEMT to Paramedic
• Air medical exposure — gain experience with fixed-wing and helicopter operations and interfacility critical care transport
• Flexible scheduling — multiple shifts available (day, night, and weekend) to fit your life
REQUIREMENTS
• Current New Mexico EMS licensure at the EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic level (or eligibility to obtain)
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Current BLS/CPR certification (ACLS and PALS preferred for Paramedics)
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as required by the role
• High school diploma or equivalent

AIT Ambulance is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
AIT Ambulance is a growing New Mexico-based medical transport service specializing in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Critical Care interfacility transport. We operate ground ambulance bases in Farmington, Alamogordo, and Albuquerque, along with a fixed-wing air medical base in Albuquerque — giving us the reach to move patients statewide and connect rural and regional facilities with the specialty hospitals, trauma centers, and care teams their patients need. We also provide special event and standby medical coverage for organizations across the region.
AIT was founded and is operated by EMS professionals — people who have worked every level of this profession, from EMT-Basic to Paramedic, from the back of the rig to the supervisor's seat. That perspective shapes every decision we make, and it's why we're building AIT around three things we won't compromise on:
Clinical excellence — built by clinicians. Every transport is guided by current, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Our protocols, documentation standards, and QA/QI processes are written by working EMS providers who've run the calls — not handed down from a corporate office a thousand miles away. When you run a call at AIT, you have the medications, equipment, and protocols to do the job right.
Investment in our people. Our leadership has been in your boots, so growth and opportunity aren't buzzwords here — they're how we run the company. We pay competitively and offer a clear promotion pathway from EMT to AEMT to Paramedic — and from field provider to FTO, Lead, and Supervisor. We pay for continuing education, cover certification renewals, and actively develop our team for the next step in their careers.
A tight-knit crew that takes care of its own. We're small enough that you'll know the people you work with — and the leadership team making the decisions. We hire for skill and attitude, because long shifts and tough calls are easier when you're rolling with people who have your back. And because the people running this service still think like field providers, the decisions that affect your shift are made by people who understand what your shift actually looks like.
AIT exists to serve New Mexico communities and patients — from the Four Corners to the southern border. If you're an EMS provider who wants to do meaningful clinical work, grow your career, and be part of building something — led by people who've done the job — we want to talk to you.
