We are growing!! Freightliner-Western Star of Maine is seeking enthusiastic, organized, and hard-working individuals to join our team. Our Houlton location has been actively serving customers for 14 years! We are seeking an individual with strong leadership and organization skills to be our Houlton Service Department Manager. This position will be salary. Pay will depend on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction to service personnel including Shop Foreman, Service Writers, and Technicians
  • Ensure the shop is compliant with all safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work space
  • Delegating assignments with Shop Foreman according to technician ability and answering questions concerning present and future jobs
  • Working with vendor partners through warranty, policy, and troubled vehicle repairs/diagnostics
  • Clearly communicate between yourself and others including the Director of Service
  • Communicate with Shop Foreman and technicians at a high level to troubleshoot and diagnose service issues and resolve complaints
  • Read and create instructions, work orders, and specifications and schedule jobs in the shop when necessary
  • Achieve goals set for the department
  • Build and maintain working relationships with customers to ensure their satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required by the Director of Service and Branch Manager

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty truck/engine repair and installation.
  • Familiarity with Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, CAT, Cummins, Eaton, and Allison products
  • Ability to listen, communicate effectively and resolve conflict with customers and employees
  • Experience in employee supervision and personnel administration preferably in a service technician/management environment
  • Strong people management and leadership skills while being supportive, assertive, and decisive
  • Valid Driver License required, CDL preferred
  • Computer proficiency
