Inventory & Stock Specialist

Job Summary:

Eldredge Lumber & Hardware in Portsmouth, NH is hiring a full-time Inventory & Stock Specialist to help keep our store running efficiently. This position plays a key role in our operation, supporting inventory flow, store organization, and assisting customers as needed.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Flexible hours

Responsibilities:

• Perform yearly inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records
• Receive and packout incoming shipments
• Maintain and ensure data accuracy in the inventory system to support adequate stock levels
• Organize and maintain stockroom and back stock areas
• Research and resolve negative reports
• Support store resets and merchandising
• Monitor shrinkage and recommend strategies to reduce theft and breakage
• Maintain accuracy of all location codes and print bin tags/labels as needed
• Help maintain store appearance through cleaning, downstocking, front-facing, and labeling
• Fill in for other duties as needed - ie. Cashier, Sales, Answering phones

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Experience in a retail environment — inventory, sales, or back office
• Strong quantitative and computer skills
• Reliable, team-oriented attitude
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs
• Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as needed
• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
